Við skin norðuljósa: Óperu veggspjöld frá Póllandi
SÝNING Á ÓPERU VEGGSPJÖLDUM FRÁ PÓLLANDI
1.-30. SEPTEMBER 2017.

Veggspjöld hafa fylgt heimi óperunnar alveg frá 19. öld, þegar mikil gróska átti sér stað í hönnun þeirra. Fyrstu veggspjöldin fylgdu stílbrigðum týpógrafíu, en síðar þróuðust þau út í nútímalist, það form sem við þekkjum í dag.
Á sýningunni verður að finna veggspjöld fyrir óperur eftir Gaetano Donizetti, Giuseppe Verdi, Georges Bizet, Richard Strauss, Giacomo Puccini, Jules Massenet í bland við veggspjöld fyrir hátíðir og viðburði tengda óperunni. Auk þess verða til sýnis sérvalin veggspjöld fyrir börn. Má þar nefna verk eins og Hnetubrjótinn, Þyrnirós, Öskubusku og Stígvélaða köttinn. Sýningin mun standa í september.
Sýningin á Amtsbókasafninu er hluti af stærra verkefni sem kallast Við skin norðurljósa. Verkefnið hefst í september og mun eiga sér stað á nokkrum stöðum á Akureyri og í Reykjavík. Viðburðurinn er skipulagður af Stowarzyszenie Ogrody Sztuki (The Gardens Of Art Association), Galeria Plakatu w Krakowie | Cracow Poster Gallery og hefur hlotið styrk frá menningarmálaráðneytinu í Póllandi.
Verkefnið er unnið í samvinnu við Listaháskóla Íslands, Norræna húsið, Gerðuberg, Menningarmiðstöð I Borgarbókasafn, Amtsbókasafnið á Akureyri, Listasafnið á Akureyri, Menningarfélag Akureyrar og Kartöflugeymsluna. Um er að ræða fimm sýningar, námskeið og fyrirlestra með pólskum listamönnum og kennurum úr Academy of Fine Arts í Póllandi: Leszek Zebrowski, Monika Starowicz and Sebastian Kubica.

THE MUNICIPAL LIBRARY OF AKUREYRI: OPERA AND CHILDREN POSTER EXHIBITION
DATE. 1.-30. SEPT. 2017
Posters have accompanied the opera since the 19th century, which saw a dynamic development of posters. At first, posters took the form of a typographic bill, but later they developed into the modern artistic format as we know it today. The exhibition features posters for operas by Gaetano Donizetti, Giuseppe Verdi, Georges Bizet, Richard Strauss, Giacomo Puccini, Jules Massenet, as well as posters for festivals and events related to opera. There will be also a special selection of posters dedicated to children: The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Puss in boots.
The exhibition here at The Municipal Library of Akureyri is a part of a bigger project called The project Polish Posters under Northern Lights. The project starts in September and will take place in two cities in Iceland: Reykjavik and Akureyri. Project is organized by Stowarzyszenie Ogrody Sztuki (The Gardens Of Art Association), Galeria Plakatu w Krakowie | Cracow Poster Gallery and is partially supported by The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Poland.
Program is prepared in cooperation with Icelandic Partners: The Iceland Academy of the Arts I Listaháskóli Íslands , Nordic House Iceland, Gerðuberg Culture House I Borgarbókasafnið, Akureyri Culture Society - ACS I Menningarfélag Akureyrar, The Municipal Library of Akureyri I Amtsbókasafnið á Akureyri, Kartöflugeymslan Gallery, Listasafnið á Akureyri / Akureyri Art Museum, includes 5 exhibitions, workshops and lectures with Polish artists and professors of Academy of Fine Arts from Poland: Leszek Zebrowski, Monika Starowicz and Sebastian Kubica.
