Reserve material and pick up at the library!
Because of strict covid19 regulations The Akureyri Municipal Library is closed for an unspecified time. While the library is closed you can still reserve and order books and other materials. You can find information and instruction about how that works here below.
Ordering and reserving.
You can order books and other material to borrow by:
- Logging into the webpage Leitir.is
- Sending Email to bokasafn@amtsbok.is
- Calling the number 460-1250 between 10 and 12 every weekday.
Orders that we receive before 12:00 can be picked up the same day between 15:00 and 17:00
Orders that we receive after 12:00 can be picked up between 15:00 and 17:00 the next weekday.
You will receive a confirmation by Email the day you can pick up your order.
If you do not have an Email, then you will be contacted by phone.
If the materials are not available, it will be reserved in your name and you will be contacted either by Email or phone when it is available for pickup.
Returning materials.
You can return books and other material in the library‘s entrance all weekdays between 10:00 and 17:00.
You can also return library book in the bookstore Penninn-Eymundsson during their opening hours.
The return date of all materials that were to be returned between 26th of October and the 23rd of November has been moved to the 11th of December, and no fines will be added between those dates.
How do I order books on Leitir.is
You select „Sign in“ in the upper right corner.
You sign in by using the number that starts with GE on your library card as a username
And the pin-number you use on the self-service machines as a password.
