The Municipal Library of Akureyri - new building 1968

Dear patrons! It was so good to see you after Easter vacation and our activity and operations are back with force!

It's a question of ... isn't the summer already here? At least, the First day of summer is next week and the snow in town mostly gone.

The included picture is from a magazine of the Local government affairs, 1969 (number 1), where the new building for the library (at that time) is discussed, but it was opened festively on November 11th, 1968. The building (older part) will celebrate 55 yr old birthday in November this year and the new building will be 20 yrs old in March 2024. We will without a doubt celebrate this somehow!
