No public transport or taxis are available in Grímsey but one can order a ride with perhaps Iceland’s only train.

The train runs a route to the lighthouse at the southernmost point of the island and then back through the village to the old Arctic Circle Monument close by the airport.
The tour takes about 1-1.5 hrs including a stop by the lighthouse, the old Arctic Circle Monument and by the coastline for birdwatching.

The train has a maximum capacity for 50 passengers.
