Tomorrow, the Summer Solstice Festival begins in Grímsey.
The people of Grímsey celebrate this occasion annually and warmly invite visitors and travelers to join in the festivities.

The people of Grímsey celebrate this annual occasion and warmly welcome guests and visitors to join in.
This year’s festival runs from June 20–22, with a slightly different focus than usual, as on Sunday, June 22, the new Miðgarðakirkja church will be consecrated.
Program: (Subject to change)
Friday, June 20
- Seafood evening hosted by the Women’s Association Baugar at 19:00 at the Múli community center (doors open at 18:30)
- Dance at Múli
Saturday, June 21
- Family scavenger hunt, meeting point at the restaurant Krían at 13:00
(Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult)
Sunday, June 22
- Consecration of Miðgarðakirkja at 13:00 has been postponed until August 10.
- The event will be broadcast live to the Múli community center has been postponed until August 10.
- Coffee reception hosted by the Miðgarðakirkja parish committee following the consecration, at Múli has been postponed until August 10.

- Sunday: 12:00–21:00
- Gallery: Open while the ferry is in port
All events are free of charge, except for the Seafood Evening and the dance.
A children’s play area will be available every day.
Transportation:
The ferry Sæfari sails between Dalvík and Grímsey five days a week, and Norlandair operates flights between Akureyri and Grímsey on Tuesdays and Sundays.
