Known as "Cream Bun Day," a cherished Icelandic tradition celebrated on the Monday before Ash Wednesday. On this day, children visit homes early in the morning, playfully tapping residents with decorated sticks while chanting "bolla, bolla, bolla!" ("bun, bun, bun!"). In return, adults reward them with candy or cream-filled buns, known as "bollur." This festive custom marks the beginning of a three-day celebration leading up to Lent.
