Þriðjudaginn 24. júlí kl. 17:00 mun Amporn Gunnarsson ásamt vinum, kynna heimaland þeirra Tæland með dans og tónlist. Verið velkomin!

- Vissir þú að á Taílandi finnur þú stærsta og smæsta dýrið í heiminum. Þar er einnig stærsti fiskurinn. 
- Vissir þú að einn tíundi af íbúum Taílands býr í Bankok, sem er höfuðborg Taílands.
- Vissir þú að það eru 35.000 hof í Taílandi.

Kynning þessi er hluti af viðburðaröð fer fram undir heitinu Alþjóðlegir þriðjudagar í tengslum við Listasumar. Alla þriðjudaga í sumar á tímabilinu 26. júní-21. ágúst kl. 17:00 munu íbúar af erlendum uppruna kynna heimaland sitt á Amtsbókasafninu. Markmiðið með alþjóðlegum þriðjudögum er að færa ólíka menningarheima saman, rjúfa einangrun og vekja athygli á heiminum í kringum okkur.

Next tuesday, the 24th of July at 5 pm Amporn Gunnarsson will talk about her homeland Thailand.

- Did you know that in Thailand is where you’ll find both the smallest and the largest creatures. The smallest mammal in the world, the bumblebee bat, calls Thailand home. You can also find the largest fish, the whale shark, in Thai waters.
- Did you know that one-tenth of the entire population of Thailand lives in Bangkok. It is the capital of this great nation, and, of course, the largest city.
- There are about 35,000 temples in Thailand. Thailand is truly a land of temples. Visiting them requires modest clothing, meaning no shorts or sleeveless shirts.

This event is a part of series called International Tuesdays. Every tuesday in the period 26th of June - 21st of August at 5 pm here at the library inhabitants from abroad will talk about where they come from. Food, music, language, landscape, culture,... etc. 

The aim is to create beautiful events, a gateway into different cultures which could arouse the curiosity of the citizens of the world around us.
