Who won the Icelandic literature awards this year?

Dear patrons and booklovers! Last night the Icelandic literature awards were handed out for books published in the year 2022. Also, an award called Blóðdropinn (Blood drop) was handed out but that is an award for the best suspense novel.

Pedro Gunnlaugur Garcia received the award in the category of novels for his book Lungu (e. Lungs). Blood drop was given to Skúli Sigurðsson for his book Stóri bróðir (e. Big brother). Arndís Þórarinsdóttir received an award for the best children- or youth-book, Kollhnís (e. Somersault). Ragnar Stefánsson finally received award for the best non-fiction book called Hvenær kemur sá stóri? (e. When does the big one arrive?)

Here is a link (in Icelandic) on the RÚV website about the award ceremony last night (where the included picture is taken from).

We want to congratulate the recipients of the awards and remind our patrons that all these books can be borrowed here at the library. It wouldn't be a bad idea to order some of them ... or maybe all? :-)

Maybe in the future some of them might be translated into another language than Icelandic, but for now they are only available in Icelandic.
