On the occasion of Barnamenningarhátíð Akureyrar, which is held in April every year, children of all ages can participate in creating mosaic artwork in the lobby of the library from April 3 to April 28, 2023.
The outline of Amtsbókasafnið itself will be drawn on a large sheet of wood located in the library. Then the visitors of the library can paste on the wood all kinds of clippings that will be located next to the wood. Together, the library's young visitors make a magnificent mosaic of Amtsbókasafnið.
The artwork will then be on display at the library for all visitors to see.
