The Municipal Library of Akureyri

Welcome to this rough drafted English version of our website. We hope that you will find the information you need and we recommend you browse through the buttons on the column to the left.

The Municipal Library is one of the largest libraries in Iceland. Roughly 400 people visit the library every day and the total items loaned over one year are around 160.000. During the summer the number of foreign guests increases considerably and therefore we hope this English version will come in handy, if a visit to the library is considered.
